Saxophon / Saxophone / Saxofón

Das Saxophon war immer meine liebste Freizeitbeschäftigung. Ich spiele ein fast 40 Jahre altes Yamaha AS-21 – ein Anfängerinstrument, das seit 20 Jahren nicht mehr hergestellt wird, aber es ist einfach festgewachsen an mir – mit einem Meyer-5-Mundstück sowie ein Yamaha SS-62 mit einem Bari-Mundstück. Ich steh auf alle modernen Jazzstile von Bebop über Cool, Hardbop und Third Stream bis Free, Fusion und freier Improvisation, und hab fast alle davon auch schon mit der einen oder anderen Formation gespielt, zeitweise auf semiprofessioneller Ebene. Meine „Superhelden“ sind John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy und Wayne Shorter, aber die Liste meiner Favoriten ist natürlich viel länger. Dazu gehören Lee Konitz, Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker, Art Pepper, Steve Coleman, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, James Spaulding u.v.a. Auf dieser Seite gibt's ein paar ältere Fotos und Musikbeispiele.
